Do you know what an absolute delight is for someone with a sweet tooth? Fudge.

Nothing beats the creamy, thick, and rich taste of fudge on your tongue. Now you take that goodness and mix it with a delicious cookie, like Oreo, and there you have it, Cookies and Cream Fudge!

It is the perfect treat for Christmas, Halloween, or any other occasion. Anyone with a sweet tooth will love this dessert for sure.

However, making fudge yourself can be a bit tricky sometimes. You need to follow the steps very carefully if you want to make a delicious treat for you or your loved ones.

Ingredients Needed

This easy recipe needs just a few simple ingredients. For this recipe, I have used melting chocolate from Chocolays, but you can use any melting chocolate you want. Just make sure the chocolate you are using is of good quality.

Next, you will need a tin of condensed milk, green sugar sprinkles, some baking cups, and some Oreo cookies. I used Oreos with red filling to make my fudge a bit more colorful and pleasing to the eyes.

Here’s a list to make it easier for you to shop.

  • Condensed milk
  • Chocolate bars
  • Chocolate melts
  • Oreos or any cookies of your choice

The Process

Let’s go through the cooking process.

Step 1: Crushing the Oreos

Crushing the Oreos

At first, take about 10 Oreos and put them in a ziplock bag. Do it to spare yourself the work of cleaning the mess afterward. After that comes the fun part. Oreos are very soft in general, so use your hands to crush the cookies into small chunks. Keep the cookies whole with the cream and everything in this step.

Step 2: Measuring the Chocolate

Once you are done with it, put it aside, and started preparing the chocolate for the fudge. Take a pound of the melting chocolate in a bowl. You can take more depending on the amount of fudge you want to make.

Step 3: Melting the Chocolate

Afterward, add a can of sweetened condensed milk to the melted chocolate bars. Use condensed milk to make the fudge creamier and to give it a thick and creamy taste. Just the way fudge should be. Now, after mixing everything in the bowl, it is time to put it in the microwave.

As per the instructions on the back of the chocolate packet, the microwave has to be at 50% power while the melts are in it. You have to keep it for 30 seconds, stir and then put it back in to continue the process until the chocolate has completely melted.

Melting the Chocolate

If you have a sweet tooth, you might be very tempted. But contain yourself because we need all of that chocolate. As they say, “all good things are for those who wait.”

Do not overheat this mixture. Doing so can cause the chocolate to burn. This makes the fudge lumpy and gives it a bitter taste.

If you’re not confident about melting your chocolate in the oven, you can also melt it on a double boiler. This takes longer, but it is a more fool-proof way of melting chocolate.

Don’t stir too vigorously. The cookies will melt into the mixture, and you won’t get that crunchy texture.

Step 4: Adding the Crushed Oreos

Soon the chocolate will be ready and molten; the hot mixture should look very rich and silky. Now just add the crushed Oreos to it and mix it properly.

At this point, the mixture is a delight to look at. The Oreos with red filling did its work. The fudge both looks and tastes brilliant! It is imperative for food to look presentable as well as taste delicious. We eat with our eyes too, you know.

Step 5: Putting the Mixture into a Mold

Now you have to pour it out into a mold. You can put it into an 8 x 8 pan. Or you could just cut it into small serving pieces, just like a cake.

Or instead, you can change things up a bit. You can make the fudge into muffins. Therefore pour out the fudge into baking cups and add green sugar sprinkles on top of it as a topping.

Melting the Chocolate

Before pouring it, make sure that the baking cups were dry and clean. The sprinkles will add a sparkly look to it and should make the fudge look even better!

You can also put it out in any sort of container or mold you want. You can pour it out onto a traditional cake tin and cut it into pieces, or you could also use fun molds with different shapes.

This is where you can go crazy with your creativity. Make them big, small, round square. Do whatever you desire! You only need to make sure that the container is the right size for the shape you want, and it is dry and clean.

Step 6: Chilling the Fudge

Now the fudge needs to be put into the refrigerator for about 2 hours, and that’s it. The fudge is done and ready to eat. Anyone who tastes this fudge will surely love it. I’m sure they won’t be able to stop after having one.

When making fudge, the ingredients and process is the key. You do not have to be a master chef to make fudge. You only need to be patient and follow the recipe as it is. Some minor changes can be made, but only if you are sure.

Whether it is an occasion or you have guests coming over at your place, make sure you try the recipe out.
