You can either refer them as zoodles or zucchini noodles, which is now included in the world of pasta enthusiasts.

Well, the core aspect of tailoring green and thin spirals of fresh zucchini is to ensure the righteousness of rich nutrients and a burst of mouth-watering taste.

Still, there are controversies regarding zucchini noodles that it can’t be made if you don’t have a spiralizer or an advanced tool that is strategically crafted for zoodles.

But that’s just a bone of contention.

In recent days, people have found out the hacks and techniques that enable you to make zucchini noodle without having a machine.

So, my goal here is to provide you the hacks! Let’s get into it then!

Why Would I Choose Zoodles Instead Regular Pasta?

Honestly, I never thought I could afford to forsake the scrumptious taste of alfredo pasta and spaghetti Bolognese. I mean there are an array of single pot pasta recipes that requires only 3 or 4 ingredient including classic toppings and a blend of herb sauce which no one wants to abandon no matter what adds in.

But, as the hype of zucchini noodle is almost an epidemic, I found out that this squash veggie yields a mild taste, which enhances with the sauce, seasoning, and few toppings. Also, unlike other pasta and noodle, this is entirely gluten-free, low in calorie and carbs.

So why not?

Quick And Easy Steps To Make Zucchini Noodle Without Noodle Maker

Make Zucchini Noodle Without Noodle Maker

You aren’t bound to have a spiralizer if you don’t want to. Because that’s basically a fancy tool which pretty much consumes a lot of space of your kitchen and also the accommodation might feel tricky to you. So, if you are a preacher of traditional kitchen utensils and machines, then using a spiralizer can be intimidating.

But if you have no issues using a spiralizer, then you can check out the best zucchini noodle makers that are trending over the online marketplaces.

With that being said, here, I have three easy techniques for making zoodles without having a noodle maker or a spiralizer.

Method 1: Conventional Vegetable Peeler

Vegetable Peeler

Here in the first method, you need to have a good old-fashioned vegetable peeler that every household yields!

To start with the peeling, you have to take a fresh and long zucchini and start peeling the skin gently into long ribbons. During the peeling, if you think that the ribbons are too thin for your noodle, then you can put more pressure to increase the thickness.

When all the zucchini skin comes off, you need to make a pile of them by stacking one zucchini strand over another. Now, take a sharp knife with a pointy edge and slice them into thin noodles.

There you go! Thin and tender zoodles in minutes!

Method 2: A Box Grater

A Box Grater

Well, a box grater is typically used for grating fiber veggies like carrots, cucumbers, potatoes, and whatnot. Just like them, you can also grate your zucchini into finely shaped noodles. It works wonders to make zucchini noodles, and this method is relatively less time-consuming.

Before starting, you need to make sure that you are proceeding with the largest hole. After that, you have to continue chopping off the ends of the zucchini to create a flat surface.

Once you are done, you should be scrupulous when grating the zucchini down the box grater. Here, you need to hold the zucchini tightly so that it doesn’t slip from your grip. Otherwise, you might grate your finger too!

Alright! That’s all you need to do for preparing fresh and consistent zoodles in less than a minute.

Method 3: A Mandoline

A Mandoline

If you don’t know what a mandoline is, then you should know that it’s almost like a vegetable grater, which helps to slice veggies in thin juliennes. You can also create crinkle cuts from this kitchen utensil.

Well, this one is one of the best bets for making zoodles as the consistency you get from a mandoline is impeccable.

So, to start with this tool, you need to set the mandoline to a thickness of 1/8 of an inch. After that, you are gonna have the julienne blade resting up, which will allow you to have really thin noodles.

Here, cut off the edges of your zucchini before you begin to slice the zucchini into the mandoline. Then, slowly run the zucchini down the mandoline putting a little pressure, and here you have finely chopped and uniformed zucchini noodles in the stash.

For a midweek dinner, having zucchini noodles as the spaghetti alternative can be the best idea possible. Especially if you are into avocados and scouring a suitable blend for it, then zoodles can do the math for you.

So, here I am dropping the recipe for making zucchini avocado pesto!

  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Avocado
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Cashew nuts
  • Minces garlic
  • Lemon juice
  • Basil leaves

Direction

  • Take a bowl, pour it with the zoodles and season them with salt and pepper.
  • Now, heat a frying pan in medium flame and add olive oil when the pan is hot.
  • Add the seasoned zoodles on the frying pan and toss them for 5 minutes in low heat using a spatula or a tong.
  • Wait until you can sniff the mild aroma of seasoned zucchini and also make sure the color changes into medium brown. When it’s done, take the frying pan down from the stove.

Lastly, for garnishing, you can sprinkle some black pepper or some Italian seasoning on it.

Zoodles are also admirable when you serve it as a side dish. For instance, you can serve them with grilled or barbeque chicken or chicken steak.
